I am proud to have been the Headteacher at Meadows Primary School and Nursery since April 2023. Our school is a very special place to be and you can find out more about this in my 'headteacher's welcome'. My passion for our school's vision - aspire, grow, flourish - guides me in all decisions made for our children and community. I insist that our school creates an environment in which all children leave us believing, "I can achieve anything I desire, I will never give up, I have endless potential." This belief is particularly important to me as someone who was born and raised in Telford; I am delighted to have returned to Telford with my two daughters and wife, after 18 years of school teaching and leadership in Bedfordshire.
I have a first-class honours degree in Primary Education, the National Qualification for Primary Headship and the Church of England Qualification for Primary Headship.
Being Headteacher of Meadows Primary School and Nursery is nothing short of a privilege, aided by the commitment and support of our wonderful governors, staff, children, parents, carers and friends of our school.

Sudesh Mejer
I joined Meadows in 2011 as a Literacy and Creative coordinator who was responsible for Teaching and Learning across the school in reading and writing as well as developing the creative side of the school.
Following that I became Assistant Headteacher and then progressed on to Deputy Headteacher - a role which I love!
Prior to this I worked in two different schools across Wolverhampton, and three other school across Telford & Wrekin. I have a real passion for working with young children, educating them about the world in which they live and ensuring they achieve their potential.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy watching my favourite football team win and I love to keep fit by walking, socialising with family and friends and finding new places to eat.

I am proud to say I have worked at Meadows Primary and Nursery School since 2012. I have taught many children during this time and have seen them go onto new schools and have new opportunities for their future. I have high expectations for the children and want them all to achieve their best. What more could a teacher ask for?
Although I have a few roles, including Assistant Headteacher, phase leader for Year 5 and 6 and Maths Leader, I still enjoy teaching across our school and seeing all the children’s hard work come to fruition.
I like to spend my free time enjoying family events, listening to music, going to concerts and reading a good book.

Liz ThorpeEarly Years and Year 1 Leader
Liz Thorpe
As Early Years leader, I’m committed to supporting the children at Meadows to thrive as they move through school and feel excited to be part of all that our wonderful school offers. I’m passionate about ensuring that all children achieve their full potential and develop an enjoyment for learning in an active, positive, caring and enriching environment. I feel strongly that children in the Foundation Stage must experience a balance of child-initiated and adult-directed activities, where their individual progress can be carefully enhanced and celebrated.
I’ve worked at Meadows since January 2017 and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here, building connections with colleagues and families within the Meadows community. It is a privilege to see the children right at the start of their educational journey and to influence and give them the very best in their journey through school. My other responsibilities in school include being a Designated Safeguarding Lead and Early Reading Leader. Prior to working at Meadows, I’ve taught in Early Years and Key Stage One at schools in Shropshire, Wolverhampton and Telford and Wrekin.
In addition to my current role, I’m also an SLE (Specialist Leader of Education) for Telford and Wrekin and enjoy supporting other schools to develop their Early Years settings. I believe that the greatest responsibility in any school is that children receive the highest quality of education and that they are happy, safe and secure at school.

Kay TarranSenior Leader for Curriculum
Kay Tarran
Hello!
I am Mrs Tarran, teacher of Year 6 – Oak Class and a Senior Leader for Curriculum. Proudly, I am also Meadows writing lead (jointly shared with Mrs Johnson), the Science lead and the lead for Outdoor Learning and Road Safety. I am a Specialist Leader in Education for Science.
I feel very lucky to be able to teach in a school that is a welcoming and exciting place to be and a school where my own children have attended/attend - a testament to my belief that this school is the place to be!
I have been teaching at Meadows since 2015. I became a teacher in 2005 after completing a PGCE from Wolverhampton University. Prior to this, I completed a BSc (Hons) In Human Biology and Health Science.
When not at school, I love spending time with my family and friends; I am a keen hill walker and can often be found at the top of a Shropshire hill on a Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, I am involved in a local judo group, am a volunteer at Wellington Cricket Club and I adore an evening curled up with a good book.

I’m Mrs Johnson and I am Pine Class teacher in Year 6 and a Senior Leader for Curriculum. I have taught at Meadows since 2017 and I love everything about our school.
I completed my PGCE in primary education at Wolverhampton University in 2013. Prior to this, I was a horse-riding instructor and competition groom with a BSc degree in Equine Science from the University of the West of England.
I am joint writing lead with Mrs Tarran, something that I am very passionate and excited about. My other favourite subject is History, which I led in school for a number of years before taking on English.
In my spare time I love spending time with my family at our allotment growing lots of different fruit and vegetables, and I still try and find time to ride whenever I can.

Maple PiatczanynHead of Happiness
Maple Piatczanyn
Hello! My name is Maple Piatczanyn. I live with your Headteacher, Mr P. I am delighted to have been given the job of ‘Head of Happiness’ at Meadows! I started in September 2023 and, even if I say so myself, think I'm doing a rather paw-some job!
I am a friendly, kind and gentle dog who loves to be stroked and make people feel calm and happy. I like eating treats and sleeping (just like my Dad!) but I also like chew toys and having my tummy stroked! I can’t wait to meet you and help you become the very best you, you can be.
